Linking to www.keymanweb.com
You can include some optional parameters to any page on www.keymanweb.com to automatically select a language:
| lang | A 2 letter ISO code specifying the locale to select. Currently, en, fr, es, ta are supported. Only available on the root index page. |
| page | The name of the page to load. Currently, email, twitter, search, notepad are supported. Only available on the root index page. |
| kmwlang | A 3 letter ISO code specifying the keyboard language to select. Must be used together with kmwkbd. |
| kmwkbd | The filename of the keyboard to select. |
| kmwosk | 1 to show the on screen keyboard, 0 to hide it. This parameter is optional |
You can find the kmwlang and kmwkbd parameters most easily by hovering over the "More help" link on www.keymanweb.com itself, after you have selected the language/keyboard pair. The URL that is encoded in that link will include the language and the keyboard name.
For example, to link to the Amharic keyboard on the English twitter page, with the On Screen Keyboard switched off, you would use the following URL:
http://www.keymanweb.com/?page=twitter&lang=en&kmwlang=amh&kmwkbd=Keyboard_gff_amh_7&kmwosk=0
Another example, to link to the Amharic keyboard on the twitter page, but let KeymanWeb.com determine which locale to use, with the On Screen Keyboard switched on, you would use the following URL:
http://www.keymanweb.com/?page=twitter&kmwlang=amh&kmwkbd=Keyboard_gff_amh_7&kmwosk=1
Using this linking style lets us add additional locales and functions to the site, without breaking your links, and makes additional locales automatically available to anyone who clicks on your links.
